Our Story
About us
After 20+ years working in higher education, we recognized the disconnect between workforce and education.
This work-learn collaborative is designed to :
Help employees find and prepare for dream careers so they are happy and productive in life.
Help businesses access qualified, local, evolving talent who grow to be effective employees and exceed expectations in the workplace.
Our Story Starts in early 2015
The idea for this project came about in 2015 with a professor’s vision and with the help of her students. Career seekers are unsure of what they want to do and with over one million credentialing options available, it is impossible to know which program is best. Using the work-learn collaborative of subject matter expert and educators, we are uniquely positioned to align the needs of the worker with best fit learning experiences so they can succeed in learning and in life.
We participated in on-going research about the most effective ways to help students and career seekers to find on-ramps to dream careers. Our team has participated in notable projects including Shaping the Workforce project at Stanford University and Bloomberg’s Tomorrow’s Talent project. Dream2Career graduated from YC Startup School Incubator program in December 2019. Our team has over 50 years of experience in education. We are working together to make local communities stronger.
Our Mission
We are Successful When:
- Businesses have a talent pool made up of educated, innovative, and diverse employees that exceed expectations and excel at all KPIs.
- Career seekers have easy access to learning that lead to dream careers.
- Communities work effectively, share resources, and have a common purpose.
Education is vital to the Future Workforce
It is necessary for employees to become life long learners and it should not be seen as punitive. We developed gamified and interesting courses so that employees wont feel like they are learning, but they retain 80% more of the information because our courses are designed to go from the classroom right to the workplace.
We use our network to keep employees motived and engaged in the learning process so they can interact with their classmates personally and professionally, just like the traditional college experience.
More than 6 million students are currently in online courses as part of their higher education program
By helping employees go to school, employers benefit with tax breaks, higher employee retention rates and improved culture.
Almost half of all students enrolled in online courses are educated exclusively through distance education
We use online education in conjunction with face-to-face engaging experiences that make learning fun and interesting and that extend learning into the real world where life happens.
