Dream2Career was founded in 2019 in Plymouth, PA by Dr. Kathleen Houlihan. Dream2Career is proud to offer the first online review site that helps students find and prepare for dream careers. The site is filled with businesses’ expert training recommendations and it offers access to information about career-related programs and events. The Edu-Advisor was designed by educators who believe students shouldn’t waste time and money on the wrong training programs and our company focuses on providing real-time local access to useful entry-level career data that is organized so students succeed and communities flourish.
We’ve worked with many great leaders along the way who have helped to shape Dream2Career’s philosophy. If you are interested in helping to support our cause, join our pilot program. You will have the ability to create a Talent Recommendation for free on Edu-Advisor, click here and become an early adopter of this radically redesigned talent network.
Proceeds from the Edu-Advisor fund career readiness programs throughout the nation.
In addition to a fully formed Board of Advisors made up of educators, parents and business professionals and our full-time staff, we have a host of student ambassadors and educators who help to make it all possible.
We want every student to have the opportunity to have access to affordable business-recommended career pathways that lead to sustainable careers. Our Mission is to transform the workforce pipeline so that it is helpful in connecting talented students with future workforce needs.
Edu-Advisor creates on-ramps for students to find and prepare for dream careers. We’ve created an algorithm that quickly matches students’ career aspirations with training opportunities. The Edu-Advisor is built based on recommendations of local business professionals who are seeking to fill entry-level jobs. We organize and promote work-learn programs to help students find and tap into existing career networks, resources, and structures.
The Dream2Career project began in 2015 with a professor’s vision and with the help of her students. Dr. Houlihan, over concern for her students’ success, organized a research project to help to create synergies between workforce and education under the company name Degree2Career. At that time, many graduates felt that their education did not adequately prepare them for the high demand and emerging industry jobs that existed in their communities. Because of Dr. Houlihan’s research and the efforts of so many, businesses and educators started working together on work-learn programs and now students can make better-informed career decisions before they waste time on the wrong training programs. There are many work-learn opportunities emerging, yet the average student didn’t know where to look to find the best career pathway. We want to put business-led content directly in front of students so they can be inspired to learn in the format and structure most suited to their interests. Using Edu-Advisor, educators and students can quickly access work-learn networks matching their career interests. Educators can quickly comply with Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and expose students to career opportunities that match and supplement their current curriculum.
