This free event is designed for both in-school and out of school time educators to learn about Design Squad’s newest collection of resources aimed at getting students to learn about engineering for a sustainable future. This training will introduce educators to the Design Squad teaching resources and materials, show how to adapt Design Squad resources for your specific program, and give you a chance to try a hands-on engineering activity. At the end of the training, educators will leave with a Design Squad kit filled with materials for three engineering activities! Lunch will be provided!
At Design Squad our mission is to get kids excited about engineering. For years Design Squad, a PBS KIDS show and website, has created activities, videos and clubs that aim to make engineering accessible and fun for kids. Now, Design Squad is tackling a new content area: inventing for a sustainable future. We want to get kids thinking about how engineering and invention impacts environmental sustainability and how new inventions can help tackle environmental problems.
