Founder Fundamentals is an 11-week workshop series brought to you by LaunchYU and Markham Small Business Centre (MSBC) designed to help you kickstart your entrepreneurial career.
Whether you are a professional services company, brick and mortar or technology startup, the program aims to equip you with the essential skills and knowledge needed to succeed. Spanning across topics such as Business Plan Writing, Bootstrapping, and Setting up a Shopify Store, this program provides a wide range of learning. The program also connects you with local resources for potential next steps as you progress in your entrepreneurial ventures.
Participants who attend at least 9 out of the 11 workshops will get a Certificate of Achievement, illustrating their dedication to learning about the essentials of launching a successful business.
About this Workshop:
Startups and founders at any stage of their life cycle should be prepared to pitch, whether it is their business or themselves in a very concise manner. However, creating a comprehensive pitch can be a scary thing if you have never done it before and there are so many elements to consider in a pitch. Therefore, this workshop aims to cover the following items:
- What slides or topics needs to be covered in a pitch deck?
- Rules of thumb for PPT presentations visually
- Key elements of an effective pitch
Join Jalisa, the Founder of Toni Marlow who has won numerous pitch competitions including the Startup Canada’s Canadian Export Challenge! Jalisa is a serial entrepreneur who also managed the Business in The Streets program and she will share her tips and tricks in delivering an effective pitch. Also, she will share her journey as a startup founder and the multiple iterations and process she had to go through to perfect her pitch.
